Miami
🌴 5 days in Miami & the Florida Keys: Family Fun, Nature & Sun
Our Miami trip was a perfect blend of nature, art, beaches, and tropical island charm. From the bustling streets of Wynwood to the laid-back vibes of Key West, here’s how we spent our 5-day adventure in sunny South Florida.
Stay:
Miami – Double Tree Hilton at Biscayne Bay & Seacost Suites Miami Beach
Marathon – Fairfield Inn
Travel Month: March
🐊 Day 1: Everglades Adventure & Wynwood Street Art
We kicked off our trip with an unforgettable airboat ride through the Everglades National Park. Gliding over the water and spotting alligators in their natural habitat was a thrilling experience for the kids (and us too!).
Later in the evening, we explored Wynwood Walls, Miami’s open-air art museum filled with colorful murals and graffiti. Every corner was photo-worthy — we spent hours admiring the bold creativity and grabbing bites from nearby food trucks.
🐒 Day 2: Paradox Museum, and Beach Walks
In the afternoon, we visited Paradox Museum Miami, which was a mind-bending experience full of optical illusions, interactive exhibits, and photo-worthy moments. The kids (and adults!) had a blast exploring rooms that flipped reality on its head — it was equal parts fun, educational, and Instagrammable.
In the evening, we took a stroll along South Beach, soaking in the vibrant Art Deco buildings and beachside energy.

🐬 Day 3: Marine Life & Marathon Stay
We headed down the scenic Overseas Highway to Theater of the Sea in Islamorada. The marine park offers intimate shows featuring dolphins, sea lions, and parrots that delight both kids and adults. The best part was the dolphin interactions and the different shows.
Afterward, we continued to Marathon, a quieter Key with beautiful ocean views — the perfect place to unwind after a busy few days.
🏝️ Day 4: Key West Day Trip & Southernmost Point
We spent the day in Key West, the southernmost city in the continental U.S. Visiting the Southernmost Point Buoy was a must, and the charming streets, pastel houses, and conch fritters made it a memorable day. We returned to Marathon for another peaceful night by the sea.
🚤 Day 5: Boat Tour of Celebrity Mansions & Beach Time
Back in Miami, we hopped on a Biscayne Bay boat tour, cruising past luxurious celebrity homes on Star Island. It was fascinating to see how the rich and famous live — from Gloria Estefan to Shaq!
In the afternoon, we soaked up the sun on the beach — a final dose of sand and sea before heading home.
